About me

I’m Beth, the artist behind Hudakay ceramics. In 2018 I made a new year’s resolution to start a pottery course and it was love at first touch!

I make functional pottery with a playful twist; I try to push the boundaries between functionality and decoration, creating nudes and characters on objects that are can sometimes be a bit beige. My illustrative style explores themes of body positivity and gender fuckery with a touch of frivolity.

Some facts:

Hudakay is the phonetic spelling of my French surname.

Up until recently, I had a studio membership in Sheffield. I now make pots from my box room/kitchen table and have a kiln under a shelter in my garden.

Ceramics is my side hustle, I also work for an ethical clothing brand.

Fave breakfast: Avo, eggs and halloumi on sourdough. Or a pistachio croissant.

Fashion staple: Beret.

Music of choice: Contemporary piano and French nostalgia.
